Event Description

Shannon Pratt-Phillips, PhD, received her Master of Science from the University of Kentucky and her Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Guelph, focusing on equine nutrition and exercise physiology. Pratt-Phillips joined the faculty at North Carolina State University in 2006, where she currently teaches equine nutrition in the Department of Animal Science. She is the director of the Distance Education Animal Science Programs, which includes the Master of Animal Science program, and her field of research focuses on glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, obesity, and laminitis prevention and management in horses. She is also the owner of Phillips Equine Nutritional Services, a consulting service.

The NEDA Know How webinar series runs every Thursday evening from 7:30pm-8:30pm in January, February, and March. NEDA members can access previously recorded sessions under the "multimedia" dropdown in their member portal.

NEDA Know How is a nationally award-winning virtual webinar series that runs every Thursday evening in January, February, and March. Run through Zoom, participants are muted, but can ask questions in the platform's chat feature, allowing the NEDA moderators to pass the questions along to our speakers for answers to your challenges and questions.

The goal of the webinar is to bring our membership a variety of prolific speakers aiming to increase:
  • knowledge of best practices and opportunities in the dressage industry,
  • opportunities to query those working in the dressage industry regarding cutting-edge advancements or best-quality educational standards, and
  • knowledge of how their aspirations are impacted by others' work in the dressage community or the equine industry.
