Event Description

Healthcare providers, students, and disability advocates play a critical role in shaping access and equity for people with disabilities. This webinar will explore the essential knowledge, skills, and practices necessary to ensure that healthcare services are inclusive, respectful, and effective. Together, we will reflect on barriers and bright spots in the healthcare system, and consider what can be implemented in Southwestern Pennsylvania to better meet the needs of people with disabilities.  This webinar is the fourth installment in FISA's short webinar series, Breaking Barriers: Dialogues on Healthcare Access for People with Disabilities. This series takes a "lunch and learn" approach, featuring conversations with disability experts sharing strategies and practices implemented to improve healthcare access and quality of care for people with disabilities. This webinar series is part of FISA Foundation's larger initiative, Access to Healthcare for People with Disabilities, which includes a report, fact sheets, and video testimonies highlighting the healthcare needs and experiences of people with disabilities.
