Event Description
Free group walk is open to all sighthounds- (Greyhounds, Whippets, Borzois, Afghan Hounds, etc.) and their human and other canine companions. Meet in the parking lot of the Chamber/Visitor Center or near the south entrance to Alameda Park. The walk will begin at 8:30.

Free, 40-60 minute leisurely-paced walk. You can walk part or all of it. Weather permitting, make plans to hang around the park after to spend time with walkers and their dogs.
The Great Global Greyhound Walk is a celebration of greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds, bringing together thousands of dogs and their owners for one special day each year.Held across the globe, these walks help raise awareness of sighthounds as gentle, loving pets.
Every walk is a chance to meet fellow sighthound owners, make new friends and enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. This is the first time Alamogordo is participating in this worldwide event, and we invite you to be a part of it.
