Event Description

Professional Judgment doesn’t have to feel like walking a compliance tightrope. In this high-energy session, we’ll break down the real-life situations where PJ makes all the difference—and give you the tools to make bold, informed decisions with confidence. From adjusting a student's Cost of Attendance (COA) components, to changing data elements affecting the Student Aid Index (SAI) and reviewing Dependency Override criteria, we'll explore what’s allowed, what’s required, and what’s a definite no-go. We’ll tackle timing rules (hello, 60-day clock!) and even practice quick decision-making with interactive “Would You PJ It?” challenges. Whether you're a rookie or a seasoned aid pro, you'll leave with sharper instincts, clearer policies, and a little more swagger when it comes to exercising PJ the right way. Think less “red tape,” and more real talk.

Presenters: Josh Edwards, Brittney Rosas-Lauderdale, Tina Jara, Susan Stephenson
