Brooks is Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto and Senior Research Fellow at the H.W. Manter Laboratory of Parasitology, Univeristy of Nebraska State Museum.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Linnaean Society of London, and recipient of honorary doctorates from Stockholm University and the University of Nebraska.  He has held visiting fellowships in Budapest, Brazil, Stellenbosch, Loszeg, and Hungary's National Centre of Ecology.  An evolutionary Biologist, his work spans pathogen--host evolution in tropical wild lands and foundational evolutionary theory, pioneering phylogenetic integration in ecology and behavior.  His recent books include The Stockholm Paradigm:  Climate Change and Emerging Disease (2019), The Major Metaphors of Evolution (2020), and Evolutionary Pathway for Coping with Emerging Infectious Disease (2023) and a Darwinian Survival Guide:  Hope for the Twenty-First Century.\Location:\nHixson-Lied Science Building, Room G04; Creighton University\n\n,
