Participants will learn a processing flow to safely and accurately document, search, and collect evidence from vehicles. Participants will learn the unique challenges vehicles present compared to other crime scenes. Participants will actively process a vehicle in groups from start to finish (photography, notetaking, black powder processing, swabbing for potential DNA, inventory, searching, and collecting). No prior vehicle processing experience is required – this course is ideal for entry-level investigators or investigators seeking a refresher. Please bring a camera, flash, and notepad. The course will be both indoors for instruction and outdoors for practical exercises.This course is limited to 24 participants.
