She has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University in Athens, Greece and a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. She is a registered professional engineer in the State of Illinois and has 35 years of experience in a wide range of environmental engineering projects. She is also a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. She has extensive experience with industrial waste and wastewater treatment for various industries. She also has technical and regulatory experience with innovative hazardous waste treatment technologies. Her experience includes treatment of chlorinated solvents, heavy metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PNAs), Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and other conventional pollutants. Dr. Petropoulou has extensive experience with permit negotiations, conciliation agreements, compliance schedules, permit limits, and compliance. His litigation practice includes defending companies in lawsuits and representing them as petitioners or defendants in administrative matters before government agencies, such as the Illinois Pollution Control Board, Illinois EPA, and USEPA.\n \n\n\nStephen B.
