We will discuss how SDI for Gifted is distinct from differentiated\ninstruction, which special education services are (and are not) available to students with\ngiftedness, and look at examples of strategies and practices to ensure the delivery of\nindividualized specially designed instruction for gifted students.\n\nDeborah currently works as a consultant for the GSTAD project, part of the Kansas\nTechnical Assistance System Network (TASN), as a member of the Technical Assistance\nTeam (TAT), providing technical assistance and training on evaluation and eligibility for\nspecial education, IEP development for IDEA and gifted students, and secondary\ntransition. Resources for these and other TASN activities are available at the TASN\nwebsite www.ksdetasn.org. Previously, Deb helped in the creation of professional\ndevelopment materials and training for the Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports\n(Kansas MTSS), and she has 30 years of experience as a school psychologist.
