In his role, Jim oversees portfolio management, fixed income trading, security lending trading and credit research for the firm’s strategies. In addition, Jim serves as Vice President of the First American Funds, co-chairs the Investment Practices Committee and serves on the Internal Compliance and Controls Committee. In addition to his investment management responsibilities, Jim is active in both serving current client relationships and new business development.\n \nJim began working in the financial industry in 1987. Prior to joining the firm in 1992 as a portfolio manager, Jim was a securities lending trader and senior master trust accountant at First Trust. More recently, Jim was Managing Director of Short-Fixed Income before becoming lead of the overall investment process in 2011.\n \nJim received a B.S. in finance from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
