The committee convenes when issues/concerns relating to the Department of Human Services have a direct impact on juvenile justice. It is important to have a representative from juvenile probation attending meetings or sitting on committees formed by DHS where topic areas or discussions will affect the juvenile justice system so the voice of juvenile probation is heard. Issues or questions about the child welfare system can be directed to this committee to research and find answers. Currently the chair represents the Chiefs' Council on the PA Child Welfare Council and attends CCAP Human Services Committee meetings when open to non-members.
