Oklahoma CareerTech Gets Creative with Professional Development
More than 50 health careers instructors met Sept. 17-18, 2014  at Tulsa Tech’s Health Science Campus for the first ever Health Careers Certification (HCC) Bootcamp. The workshop featured a review of all testing data for technology center HCC programs and suggested best practices to improve scores on the National Health Science Assessment.  Participants spent a fun, interactive afternoon with two experienced CareerTech instructors who shared games, Web apps and learning tools that the instructors could immediately implement in their classrooms.  The presenters were from the inaugural NCHSE Master Teacher Institute (MTI) and many of the tools learned at MTI were shared.     The second day featured small breakout groups that rotated through five vendors explaining new technology available for students and five skills demonstration and practice sessions for HOSA competitive events.  It was an action-packed two days that received excellent reviews.
