NWSA/SCYA Women's Sailing Conference

The Take the Helm® Track, a proven introduction to sailing, was developed in the 1990s by NWSA founder Doris Colgate and board members. It offers women sailors, especially novices, a fun and supportive way to learn the sport. The Track includes classroom and dockside learning, followed by hands-on practice on the water. New sailors then pick ‘purple’ tracks to fill and personalize their experiences. Novice sailors enjoy learning without mansplaining.
