NERA Webinar Proposal Information and Form

The mission of the Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA) is to encourage and promote educational research. The NERA Webinar series supports this mission by -

  • providing high-quality and informative lectures in webinar format year-round,

  • offering professional development opportunities to benefit NERA members including those who may not be able to attend the annual conference,

  • serving as a mechanism to attract new members, and

  • helping to increase NERA's visibility with multiple audiences, including graduate students.

NERA members with an interest in contributing to educational programming are encouraged to propose webinars at any time. Webinars can be delivered at any time of year, including summer. As a webinar presenter, you can gain visibility for your research, add an accomplishment to your CV, and enhance your professional network.

Webinars typically focus on scholarly research in education or offer professional development; accordingly, webinar proposals must clearly relate to topics of interest to NERA membership. Scholarly proposals must address issues, raise important questions, solve problems, or provide practical knowledge to advance research and practice in education and related sub-disciplines.

While webinar lengths can vary, they generally last one hour (e.g., a presentation of 45 minutes with 15 minutes for questions). Webinar presenters are responsible for creating presentation slides and/or other materials (Powerpoint, Prezi, Beamer, etc.) and presenting at a mutually agreed-on date and time, while NERA will manage webinar registration and delivery, and will promote webinars through email and social media. As NERA is a volunteer-based organization, NERA cannot compensate webinar presenters for webinar development and delivery.

Proposals will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and presenters will be notified within 30 days of submission.
