The National Friend of the Farrier of the Year Award has been created to honor the accomplishments and commitment as a "friend" of the farrier. This person could be a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, veterinarian, service provider, or any other person who is not either a farrier or a farrier apprentice. The National Friend of the Farrier of the Year must be a resident of the United States and also work in the United States.

The awarding of the "National Friend of the Farrier of the Year" will occur on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Kappy Kaplan Recognition Dinner, Wellington International, Wellington, Florida. If needed, arrangements may be made for transportation and lodging from the recipient's home to Wellington, Florida. Providing a video feed may be used should travel arrangements not be practical.
