Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, Business Services and Procurement, the Project Lead and Advisor will provide support on daily procurement activities while leading time-bound transformational initiatives to modernize procurement services at George Brown Polytechnic. The role ensures compliance with the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement Directive, institutional policies, and procurement best practices, while developing enhanced procurement processes, policy updates, toolkits, compliance frameworks, and a centralized procurement library.
Key Responsibilities:
- Map current-state workflows, conduct a gap analysis, and establish a project charter.
- Develop future-state processes, SOPs, documentation standards, and internal controls.
- Draft updated procurement policy aligned with BPS and sector best practices.
- Establish compliance monitoring tools and reporting dashboards.
- Design and implement centralized digital repository for procurement resources, user guides, and tools.
- Work with internal stakeholders on the development and delivery of communications, training, and change management plans.
- Engage with stakeholders and provide guidance to clients in support of Procurement’s transformation.
- Provide advisory support on complex procurements projects.
- Support with the review of competitive and non-competitive documentation for compliance.
- Advise on procurement planning, evaluation design, and risk mitigation.
- Support resolution of compliance issues and RFx requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Finance, or related field. Professional supply chain certification preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years progressive public sector procurement experience, including direct experience with BPS Procurement Directive, ERP systems, compliance reviews, project management, and policy development.

$82,900 to $97,580 annually
