Details:
We are looking for a Survey Party Chief who is responsible for coordinating daily survey tasks, communicating effectively with clients and team members, and demonstrating expertise in boundary retracement, topographic surveys, and roadway construction surveying. The role requires physical endurance for demanding fieldwork, strong technical skills with Trimble equipment, and at least three years of survey experience, including two as a Party Chief. A successful candidate values teamwork and high-quality service.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Survey Department Manager or appropriate office staff regarding daily job scope and tasks
- Communicate and interact effectively with clients, contractors and team members
- Demonstrate proficiency in all field techniques related to boundary retracement, topographic surveys and heavy roadway construction surveying
- Collaborate with the instrument technician to address questions and provide training on company-approved survey methods, styles and procedures to efficiently complete boundary surveys, topographic surveys, establish control networks, and provide construction staking
- Maintain detailed and accurate field notes daily
- Ensure that equipment is responsibly cared for while in the field
- Willing to work reasonable overtime to meet project demands
- Some travel may be required

The candidate applying for this position should be physically capable of withstanding the rigors and activities generally associated with field surveying. A large percentage of our work involves construction surveying projects that can involve long days in physically and mentally demanding work environments.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Strong team player, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Competent in using Trimble Access and Roading programs for slope staking with corridor modeling and design elements
- Experienced with Trimble Robotic total station, GPS, and DiNi digital levels for gathering field data, establishing control networks and construction layout
- Proficient in Trimble Business Center for importing and exporting daily files
- Part 107 Drone Certified, familiar with DJI products (preferred, not required)
- High School Diploma or GED required; AS or BS in land surveying preferred
- LSIT preferred, but not required
- Possess 3-5+ years of survey experience
- Valid driver's license required

Compensation
Job type: Full-time
Pay: $38 - $45 per hour DOE
