Details:
Monitors wastewater treatment and biosolids processing equipment such as pumps, motors, air compressors, blowers, thickeners, valves, and gates.
Observes variations in operating conditions; logs and interprets readings from computer, meters, gauges, charts, and instruments; observes and reports variations in visual appearance, sounds, or smells.
Performs field tests such as percent total solids, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and other related tests.
Maintains legible, accurate records and logs of shift operations; records meter and gauge readings.
Monitors and controls the application and supply of chemicals, dissolved oxygen, or other materials to the treatment and processing of sewage and biosolids.
Collects sewage samples using dipper or bottle; checks autosamplers for proper operational requirements and collect and send samples to contract labs.
Conducts basic laboratory tests such as residuals, CBOD, pH, ammonia and suspended solids tests.
Communicates with others performing operations and/or maintenance tasks.
Inspects, performs preventative maintenance on, tests performance of, and attempts to detect and/or locate possible malfunctions of industrial mechanical equipment while in operation.
Performs maintenance and repair for industrial pumps which may include lubrication, rebuilding, alignment of motors, nearby valves maintained or exercised, or other maintenance tasks performed.
Off shift work hours for rain events and contractor work.
Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) State of Ohio Class II Wastewater Operator certificate for wastewater treatment works or Class 1 and be able to obtain a Class II within a year
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Class A or Class B CDL (preferred)
Comments:
Probation Period: 180 days
Salary: $21.63 - $28.84
Full time M-F; 7-3:30pm; Overtime opportunity
