Details:
Plans, schedules, and implements construction, maintenance, and operational activities designed to provide high-quality
sewer service throughout the City. Oversees construction and maintenance work to ensure it meets City standards and
specifications.
Oversees all televising, surveillance, and cleaning of sewer lines to monitor system condition, identify blockages or
structural issues, and maintain proper system function.
Supervises the control and use of, and assumes responsibility for, all materials, supplies, and equipment used in the
construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s sewer infrastructure.
Inspects and supervises the repair of lift stations and associated equipment at regular intervals to ensure all
components—mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems—are functioning properly and reliably.
Coordinates the calling and communication of OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Service) tickets for all excavation-related
work. Reviews 811 dig alerts and informs crews of underground utility locations to ensure safe and compliant digging.
Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and consultant contracts.
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in General Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a closely related field.
A high school diploma or GED is required at minimum.
Must possess, or be able to obtain at the time of hire, a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL) with no record of suspension or revocation in any state.
Must hold or obtain an Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate or Class I Sewer Collection license within 12
months of employment.
At least five (5) years of relevant experience in public utilities. Experience should demonstrate progressively responsible
duties involving both technical and supervisory functions.
Special Requirements
Must obtain an Ohio Pesticide Applicator’s License within 24 months of employment.
