Details:
Plans, schedules, and implements construction, maintenance, and operational activities designed to provide high-quality
sewer service throughout the City. Oversees construction and maintenance work to ensure it meets City standards and
specifications.
 Oversees all televising, surveillance, and cleaning of sewer lines to monitor system condition, identify blockages or
structural issues, and maintain proper system function.
 Supervises the control and use of, and assumes responsibility for, all materials, supplies, and equipment used in the
construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s sewer infrastructure.
 Inspects and supervises the repair of lift stations and associated equipment at regular intervals to ensure all
components—mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems—are functioning properly and reliably.
 Coordinates the calling and communication of OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Service) tickets for all excavation-related
work. Reviews 811 dig alerts and informs crews of underground utility locations to ensure safe and compliant digging.
 Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and consultant contracts.


Qualifications:
 Associate’s Degree in General Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a closely related field.
 A high school diploma or GED is required at minimum.
 Must possess, or be able to obtain at the time of hire, a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL) with no record of suspension or revocation in any state.
 Must hold or obtain an Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate or Class I Sewer Collection license within 12
months of employment.
 At least five (5) years of relevant experience in public utilities. Experience should demonstrate progressively responsible
duties involving both technical and supervisory functions.
Special Requirements
 Must obtain an Ohio Pesticide Applicator’s License within 24 months of employment.
