The City of Piqua is accepting application for an Operator in our Water Department. Candidate will perform tests on water samples and makes adjustments to chemical feed rates based on test results; monitors computerized system and makes adjustments for clear-well level, high service pressure and flow, raw water flow, elevated tank levels, and sludge basin level; checks chemical feeders for operation, supply, and feed rate; back washes sand filters; enters data into computer for reports; receives and handles customer complaints and reported problems and notifies appropriate personnel of issues; performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education (high school) with knowledge of math and chemistry, and experience as a Water Plant Operator as appropriate to the level of certification; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Upon completion of Basic Water Class (provided on location) through OTCO, operator will be given 3 years to possess Certification for Chemical Analysis and Water Plant Operator I through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Training is reimbursed by the City.
