The Wastewater Collection System Maintenance position involves duties associated with the repair, maintenance, and inspection of the wastewater collection system.
Essential Job Functions:
• Performs daily maintenance, cleaning, repairing, heavy equipment operation and inspection of the wastewater collection system as defined in issued work orders, customer complaints or scheduled trouble spot maintenance.
• Use CCTV equipment to inspect sewer lines and pump stations.
• Operate high-velocity cleaners, vacuum trucks, and power rodders.
• Remove blockages and debris from sewer lines and manholes
• Repair broken sewer mains, manholes, and related structures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Driver’s license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required. Prior experience with wastewater maintenance or equivalent is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain, within 18 months of hire, a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates for this position should have experience performing a variety of advanced level maintenance and operational tasks involving manual labor, ensuring preventative care, conducting general repairs, maintaining records, utilizing tools and equipment, communicating with contractors, consultants and customers, ensuring compliance with departmental rules and regulations, adhering to safety standards, providing on-the-job training to less experienced employees, and assisting site supervision with daily responsibilities. Candidates should have experience demonstrating a high degree of initiative and logic, exercising independent judgment, exhibiting sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, and consistently delivering general customer service in a professional fashion. This position will include physical labor, including working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. This position may require overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work, as well as flexible hours and rotating days.
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $20.32 - $30.48 per hour
