The City of Canal Winchester owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility. The Superintendent is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of these facilities. The Superintendent must frequently make independent, sound decisions on system operations and must perform these duties in a manner that reflects positively on the City and Public Service.

Under general direction, supervises and coordinates all wastewater program activities and operations within the Public Service Department including wastewater collections and treatment; ensures compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency and safety regulations; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Assistant Public Service Director.




Qualifications:
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Public Administration, Business or related field and 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in sanitary sewer systems with 3-5 years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required: Operator License: Ohio State Certification as a Class III Wastewater Operator
