Position Summary:

The Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting and payroll departments, supporting the Vice President (VP), Finance, with in-depth knowledge of financial management principles and exhibiting expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The leader in this position will lead the Accounting team and is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining management information and reporting systems related to the organization’s financial, accounting and reporting functions. Delivers operational reports and recommendations to the VP, Finance and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO), as well as business leaders at HealthPoint.

Your contribution to the team includes:

-Supervise and oversee all accounting functions including monthly financial reporting, cash and investment accounts, accounts payable, and payroll.
-Maintain current and pending knowledge of GAAP, HRSA, and other Federal legal and regulatory requirements, and ensures systems are configured correctly to ensure compliance.
-Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and internal control requirements. Accountable for oversight and implementation.
-Oversee the organization’s system of accounts and ensure that accounting records are prepared and maintained for all organizational transactions and assets, including grant accounting and tracking.
-Assure protection of the organization’s assets through internal controls, internal auditing, and proper accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.
-Work collaboratively with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and the VP of Finance in the financial, strategic planning and administration of the organization.
-Ensure successful completion of the annual audit. Ensures that schedules required by external auditors are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, including the process for 401k and 403b audit and filings.
-Manage all insurance matters, including annual renewal process, contract review for insurance requirements and ensure appropriate coverage is always maintained.
-Ensure successful completion and compliance with all governmental grant and tax filings.
-Prepare operating data and special reports as required, including interim financial statements.
-Lead and conduct accounting operations using HealthPoint’s LEAN Management System methodologies to drive continuous improvement through a structured process to identify and eliminate waste, determine process improvements, and implement and measure impact of changes. Coaches staff to use tools in their standard work.
-Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, core values and goals of HealthPoint and its healthcare delivery including the ability to integrate values of integrity, wisdom, creativity, cooperation, responsibility and respect into appropriate programs and services.
-Responsible for hiring, performance management, talent development, employee relations, recognition, and training of staff by providing effective leadership. Ensure all work is completed in support and enhancement of the objectives and goals of the organization.
-Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to streamline and enhance office operations using the HealthPoint Lean Management System (HLMS) tools and processes.


Qualifications:
Must have's you'll need to be successful:

-Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a four-year college or university; five (5) to eight (8) years related experience and at least two (2) years of which should be in a healthcare organization and at least five (5) years' experience managing an accounting department; at least five (5) years of staff supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Federally Qualified Healthcare Center experience a plus. CPA preferred. Maintain current CPA license as appropriate.
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret common industry related journals, financial reports and legal documents.
-Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
-Ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information to top management, clients, external groups and/or boards of directors.
-Work situations are broadly defined, complex and diverse, occasionally unprecedented. Problems have many dimensions and range from innovative thinking in one area to related fields of specialization. Consequences normally evaluated use more formal analytical, planning or process methods and strategies developed for action.
-Advanced ability to operate computers and related software for Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software. Experience with MIP software desired.

Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start. All new employees are also required to show proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, annual Influenza and TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer. Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.
