Details:
Under general supervision, performs mechanical maintenance work and operations at the Newark Water Treatment Plant (15 MGD surface water plant) and performs other duties as required.
Inspects equipment for excessive wearing of parts and perform necessary repairs.
Performs preventive maintenance work on equipment
Utilizes or operates various hand tools, cutting torch and welding equipment necessary to perform necessary tasks
Performs duties of the water plant operator as necessary, collects samples and performs lab test
Relief operator for plant operations
Operates motorized equipment as necessary; dump truck, overhead crane and other related equipment
Utilizes computer for SCADA monitoring, data input and work orders
Follows all safety practices and procedures
Performs custodial work, sweeps and mops floors, unloads chemicals, paints, mows, etc.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Must obtain Ohio EPA Class 1 Water Supply license within two years of hire date.
