Details:
Must possess an Ohio EPA license I, II or III in either WATER SUPPLY or WASTEWATER OPERATOR and if hired would be working at the Water Treatment Plant or the Black River or PQM Waste Water Treatment Plants in the City of Lorain Utilities Department. Responsible for performing the duties of operation and light maintenance of the plant. Performs duties assigned to him/her by the Plant Superintendent. Makes regular inspections of the plant & equipment to ascertain that everything is functioning properly; Collects samples for analyses by himself and the lab; keeps various logs on the plant operations and changing conditions. For Water Treatment: Good knowledge of modern water treatment plant principles and operational practices; possess a working knowledge of basic water treatment plant chemistry as-turbidity, total alkalinity, phenol alkalinity, carbon dioxide, pH, total hardness, incrustant hardness, threshold odor, pre-chlorination, post chlorination and de-chlorination. / For Waste Water Treatment: Thorough knowledge of water pollution control plant operations such as primary treatment, chemical precipitation, incineration operation, activated sludge, tertiary treatment, vacuum filtration and centrifuging.


Qualifications:
Ohio EPA Class I, II or III Water Supply Certificate or Ohio EPA Class I, II or III Wastewater Certificate; Must be a US citizen or have a valid permanent resident card. Must have valid Ohio driver' s license.
