The Lake County Department of Utilities is accepting resumes for the position of Director of Water Plant Treatment. This executive leadership position is under the general supervision of the Director of Operations. A valid Class IV State of Ohio Water Certificate is preferred with extensive experience in utility management, water treatment, operation and maintenance. An associate’s degree or higher in science or engineering is desired. This administrative position manages, leads and directs the operation and maintenance of two major water treatment plants. Candidate leads regulatory compliance in planning, organizing and coordinating related operations, maintenance and services. Candidates manage continuous change and adapts business processes as necessary. Provides input and supports organizational department policies and initiatives. Establishes practices, policies and procedures to ensure consistency, cost savings initiatives and delivery of quality services. Salary $95,000.
Qualifications:
• Eight years as an Operator of Record Plant Superintendent in responsible charge of a water treatment plant.
• Demonstrated workforce planning, employee development and team building.
• Significant experience managing a multi-million dollar operating budget coupled with a strong financial background.
• A strategic leadership and vision pertaining to facility infrastructure and treatment plant capital improvements.
• Strong ability to delegate technology, asset management and electronic work orders related activities.
• Longstanding external business relationships with the OEPA, local communities and consultants.
