Details:
Operates, services, and maintains laboratory and chemical feed equipment and operation records. Performs a variety of duties necessary to the completion of the treatment process. Follows standard procedures to produce water of a required quality. Completes janitorial duties as directed.

$43,542 annually, with merit increases to $60,597.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by course work in water treatment, chemistry, hydraulics, and mathematics.
Six months to one year experience in a Drinking Water Treatment Plant; one to two years experience desirable; a Michigan F-4 water operator’s certificate desirable. Potential candidates for this position must be able to obtain an F-4 certificate issued by the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE), within eighteen months from date of hire. Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Additionally, to perform the essential functions of the job, an individual must be able to maintain a physical condition necessary for both sitting and standing for periods of time; bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying modest weight; general manual dexterity, adequate vision, hearing, and speech required and ability to operate assigned equipment. Additionally, may be exposed to hazardous materials.

Ability to pass a background investigation and a physical examination which includes a drug screen and a color-blind test.
