Details:
Plans, develops, coordinates and administers the Division\'s occupational safety program, comprehensive insurance program, industrial hygiene and technical training activities for the Division staff. Plans, implements and coordinates programs to reduce financial losses and risk associated with all County property and operations. Also responsible for developing and implementing a variety of safety programs and measures to minimize accidents and control losses.



Qualifications:
* Supervisory skills necessary to provide guidance, training and review the work of assigned staff.
* Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, external contractors, regulatory inspectors, insurance agents, and others in the exchange of information and resolution of problems.
* Written and computer skills necessary to prepare required documentation.
* Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related area as determined by the Employer. Master's degree is preferred.
* Six to eight years of related occupational health and safety training experience.
* Certified safety professional (CSP), certified industrial hygienist (CIH), or certified hazardous materials manager (CHMM) certification is preferred.
* HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
* Analytical ability to evaluate safety issues and develop effective solutions.
