Heritage Bank currently has an exciting opportunity to join our organization! We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer that will have responsibility for monitoring and reporting finance activities including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses, to support financial needs of the Company for decision making purposes. Additionally, this position will have responsibility for effectively utilizing the technologies and tools available to streamline financial analysis/reporting processes.

Preferred geographical location is Tacoma, WA. Depending on experience other locations within Heritage Bank's Washington or Oregon footprint may be considered.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be able to:
Manage or assist in the management of: Annual budget process and the periodic forecasting process for the Company. Work with Accounting team on Budget to Actual performance. Process invoices and expense reimbursement requests for payment, in a timely and accurate manner, while adhering to established policies and procedures. Profitability models, including review of assumptions and preparation of reports. Provide training as necessary to business unit leaders on profitability improvement measures. Asset/liability management and interest rate risk model, including providing analysis for assumptions utilized and scenarios to present to senior management.
Coordinate, compile and analyze financial information from all components of the organization and develop integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, key performance ratios, reports, and presentations.
Review financial reporting and analysis prepared by Finance team for completeness and accuracy and compliance with applicable standards (GAAP, FDIC, etc.).
Administer the Company’s financial data delivery interface and manage the development of reports and dashboards for end users, including the definition of internal strategies, roadmap and report documentation.
Provide support for special projects, ad hoc requests, strategic initiatives and merger/acquisition opportunities.
On-going review of finance procedures, systems and processes to ensure efficiency and implementation of best practices.
Maintain relationships with lines of business to provide appropriate information to assist in achievement of company goals.
Maintain proficient knowledge of, and ensure bank activities are performed in compliance with, all state and federal banking laws and regulations applicable to assigned area.
Keep abreast of industry changes and regulatory requirements and oversee and/or assist with examinations conducted by auditors and regulatory agencies.
Assist in the development of skills of finance team members through mentoring and coaching.
Provide training/support and backup for the Accounting and Finance team, as needed.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline – strongly preferred.
8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, which includes 4 years of financial modeling – required.
CPA/CMA designation – desired.
Equivalent combination of education, certifications and/or relevant experience in all aspects of accounting/finance may be considered.
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication/ interpersonal skills and customer service orientation combined with ability to communicate effectively across business lines at all levels; with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required to analyze statistical information, demonstrating proficiency performing data analysis to support business decisions through financial modeling, graphical presentation, and analytical writing.
Strong financial reporting, short/long term budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong problem-solving, organizational, data review and time management skills, with the ability to accurately manage multiple assignments, goals and reporting requests, ensuring that priorities are set and commitments and deadlines are met, with minimal direction and supervision.
Strong leadership skills are desired to mentor, motivate, and help develop team members.
Ability to handle and deal with sensitive and confidential matters in an efficient manner.
Advanced PC experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and retrieval of data; strong working knowledge of automated financial management and accounting systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly. Experience with data warehouse and multi-dimensional data sources, required.

Work Environment:
Climate controlled office environment.
Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions during the day.
Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule(s) with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, and/or extended hours, as needed.

Physical Demands:
Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner and facsimile which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.
Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials.
Occasional Lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs (files, boxes, etc.)
