Position Summary
The Finance Manager, in partnership with the Director of Finance, is tasked with overseeing the financial health and sustainability of SCT.

To that end, this role is responsible for ensuring competent, efficient, and accurate financial practices and results for operating, capital and endowment funds. This position will assess and monitor organization performance and fiscal controls in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. This position regularly performs a wide variety of complex accounting and finance duties requiring initiative and independent judgment.

Candidates for this position must have the ambition to move up in the organization and have the drive to seek new information and learn continuously.

Primary Responsibilities
Work with outside auditors to lead the annual audit process, ensuring SCT receives a clean audit report
Complete the annual 990 IRS filings
Complete the monthly accounting closing process; complete Board reporting and cash forecast
Perform Endowment fund accounting, including monthly reporting, annual expense calculation and allocation, and contribution purpose tracking
Become the department expert in the MIP Accounting system; recommend and lead the implementation of upgrades and improvements; design useful accounting reports
Perform the annual filings for all business licenses, tax exemptions, and governmental reporting requirements
Policy and procedure development and updating
Regularly attend and present at the Finance Committee of the Board
Support the Director of Finance in grant application and post-grant monitoring
Support the Director of Finance in budget development, tracking, and forecasting

Backup Responsibilities
Backup for Director of Finance when unavailable for Board of Directors meeting
Payroll, accounts payable, accounting entries, and reconciliations backup for Accounting Manager



Qualifications:
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field from an accredited college or university
At least three years of accounting experience
CPA, MBA, and/or public accounting experience a plus but not required
Knowledge of GAAP non-profit accounting principals
Excellent organization and accuracy skills
Strong commitment to improving efficiencies and reducing paper/printer usage using technological resources
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and diplomacy skills
A demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Strong data management skills and familiarity with MIP or other modular accounting software; expertise with Microsoft Office programs
Familiarity with performing arts organizations preferred

Compensation and Schedule
Regular, exempt full-time position
The pay range is up to $60,000/annually
Generous benefits package which includes fully paid employee medical, dental and vision coverage
Schedule is normal business hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
