The City of Zanesville is looking for a Water Plant Operator. Candidate must possess a minimum of a State of Ohio Class I Water Plant Operator's Certification. Willingness to work the floater shift. Position is eligible for a $2080 annual bonus for a Class II Water Certification and a $4680 annual bonus for a Class III Water Certificatoin
Qualifications:
Successful candidate should have knowledge of water plant operations, water purification methods and equipment; water plant laboratory tests and procedures; large capacity pump operation and related equipment; federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to water treatment; work hazards and safety precautions; water quality and distribution; basic chemistry, physics, hydraulics and electricity.
Successful candidate should have the ability to maintain accurate and legible work records; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, city departments, and general public; perform physical labor for extended periods of time; work independently.
Successful candidate has skill in operation of spectrophometer and other laboratory equipment; conducting skilled laboratory tests; reading and interpreting gauges, graphs and plant maps; conducting chemical tests; operation f water plant operating equipment; identifying plant operating problems; evaluating effectiveness of treatment processes.
