Water Protection Specialist I - EXAM


The City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Water Protection Specialist I. To apply, you must first take the open competitive examination. Applications must be submitted to the Civil Service Commission by applying on-line at www.csc.columbus.gov by 5/27/2021. Applicant tracking is now managed by NEOGOV. If you do not already have a profile in NEOGOV, you will have to set up a new one in NEOGOV before you can submit an application.

This position is responsible for performing source water protection activities and monitoring/securing City watershed properties. To qualify you must have Significant college coursework (eighteen (18) quarter or twelve (12) semester hours) in natural resources, environmental science, forestry, park management, wildlife management, or a closely related field. Substitution(s): One (1) year of field experience in natural resource conservation, protection, or restoration; wildlife management; or providing security within a park or facility may be substituted for the required education. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. By the completion of the probationary period, must possess a valid Ohio Boaters Education certificate.
Salary $42,245 - $63,357.
