Specialized supervisory level in water reclamation, under the direction of the Water Reclamation Manager, requiring considerable knowledge of water reclamation processes, analyses, operations, equipment and maintenance in order to oversee the daily operations (multiple shifts) of the water reclamation facility. Supervises operations staff. Normal size staff 3 – 12 employees. Performs the material and substantial duties of classification more than 50% of the time.

Supervises water reclamation plant operations and provides leadership to staff to ensure regulatory compliance and proper operation of water reclamation processes and equipment. Implements operations preventative maintenance, bulk chemicals and utilities programs. Participates in capital improvement projects. Investigates complaints, gives plant tours, works with regulators and other departments to ensure efficient operations. Responds to emergencies after hours. Develops and promotes positive work culture, teamwork and skills development. Interviews, selects, trains, evaluates, counsels, mentors, and disciplines staff. Schedules overtime. Implements safe work practices and provides safety instruction.

Maintains a variety of paper and electronic records relating to personnel, analytical data, supplies, facilities, equipment and regulations. Uses computer software systems (maintenance management, Geographic Information System, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition, time keeping, financial, lab data and Microsoft Office suite) to document, analyze and plan work. Prepares regulatory reports. Develops and implements standard operating procedures.

Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations, performing permit compliance activities required by the NPDES permit, including the storm water program and bio-solids program. Exercises independent good judgment in handling routine and emergency operations. Serves as OEPA Operator of Record. Acts in the absence of the Water Reclamation Manager.



Qualifications:
Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. High School Diploma or equivalent, Ohio EPA Wastewater Works Operator Class II License and four (4) years of experience in water or sewer operations and / or maintenance. (Other Evidences May Be Substituted)
