The City of Solon has an opening for the full-time day shift position of Electrical Instrumentation Technician in the Maintenance division of the Water Reclamation Department. This position is Civil Service and is also included in the collective bargaining agreement for Water Reclamation employees represented by Teamsters Local 436. The base pay rate is $24.71 per hour with additional stipends available with completion of specified certifications.

Position responsibilities include performing electrical maintenance and trouble-shooting work at all locations of the treatment plant and pump stations. In addition, responsibilities include inspections, repairs, testing and diagnostic maintenance on a variety of electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipment used in the operations of wastewater treatment. This position works under the general supervision of the Water Reclamation Manager of the Maintenance division.



Qualifications:

Applicants are required to possess a high school degree or a GED equivalency certificate plus vocational training in, or extensive knowledge of, electrical, electronics and instrumentation, along with at least two (2) years of related work experience. The knowledge of power distribution, control circuitry and NEC Code is highly desired. Successful candidates shall be able to perform trouble-shooting, maintenance and repair of 480 volt power circuits, analog and digital control circuitry, programmable logic controllers, pump starters and controls.

Additional requirements listed below are subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement and must be obtained after being hired and within the designated time frame.

A minimum Class 1 Waste Water Operator's License is required to be obtained within two years of employment
