Details:
Operator Assistant: Receives on-the-job training and experience in performing routine maintenance, operation, cleaning, installation and monitoring of water distribution and wastewater collection equipment and facilities. Additional voluntary classroom training will be provided after normal work hours at a location chosen by the Employer.
Operator: Performs general maintenance and repairs of sewer collection and water distribution equipment and facilities. Inspects and observes operation of facilities and equipment and makes adjustments and corrections to ensure effective and efficient operation. and experience in performing routine.

Qualifications:
Operator Assistant:
- Graduation from a high school or equivalent G.E.D.
- Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying climatic condition.
- Must be able to walk over rough terrain and climb ladders and stairs.
- Must have Michigan CDL-B.
Operator:
- Graduation from a high school or equivalent G.E.D.
- Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
- Must have a Michigan CDL-B with: N (tanker) and airbrake endorsement.
- Must have a Sacramento Operation and Maintenance of Wastewater Collection Systems Volume I Wastewater Certificate for the Sewer or I&I group.
- Must have a Michigan S-4 water distribution certificate for the water group
- Must be able to lift a minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying climatic condition.
- Must be able to walk over rough terrain and climb ladders and stairs.
