The Assistant Treasurer will manage and execute the financial planning and treasury functions in a shared service environment. Duties include operating plan management, bank relationship assistance, foreign exchange operations, cash management, and overseeing credit and collections and accounts receivable. Supervises borrowing and investing. Assesses the products, services, technologies and systems that are available and appropriate for Treasury departments. Oversees all aspects of the company's financial risk exposures including interest rate risk and foreign currency risk. Assists in meeting overall treasury department’s policies and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the treasury department.

Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following and may be performed personally or through others:
Oversees the following Financial Services departments: Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections.
Manages all treasury services provided by banks. Negotiate and optimize treasury services. Assess new service offerings and implement as appropriate. Negotiate and monitor bank fees.
Assist in developing bank relationships and maintain regular communications with multiple banks.
Develop and implement cash management operational strategies.
Manage domestic and foreign currency and cash flow forecasting to ensure adequate domestic and foreign funds are available for operating needs.
Manage short-term investment of excess funds and short-term borrowing.
Assess foreign exchange risk and implement risk mitigation strategies that may include hedging.
Assess interest rate risk and implement risk mitigation strategies that may include hedging.
Manage usage of letters of credits.
Oversee in-house banking, netting, and pooling.
Review monthly interest expense and accruals.
Review monthly treasury journal entries.
Ensure compliance with company policies, banking regulations and contractual obligations.
Monitor and implement internal controls in daily cash management activities.
Supports M&A activity related to treasury functions, including funding, finance modeling, due diligence and treasury integration.
Monitors and prepares loan covenant compliance.
Assists with reporting for the board and external financial institutions.
Prepares operating plans for Consolidated and individual Operating Company views and coordinates with multiple levels of management to ensure their plans are current.
Trains and develops treasury staff.
Responsible for the Oracle cash management module.
Ensure efficient and effective treasury shared services that also provide high value to Operating Companies.
Report shared service metrics to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of treasury processes.
Promote cross-company initiatives to improve process integrity and efficiencies.
Foster collaboration between Operating Companies and Financial Services treasury operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
At least five years required of relevant treasury, accounting, planning experience, or any combination thereof. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting, business, or finance required. MBA or advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred. CTP, CFA or FP&A preferred. Managerial experience required. Oracle or other ERP, shared service, and system implementation experience is a plus.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to speak clearly and produce quality written communications. Ability to effectively present information to top management peers and team members.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other:
Employee must have strong PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge and experience including demonstrated advanced spreadsheet and analytics ability. Employee must have demonstrated leadership ability. Employee must be flexible to work alone or as part of a team under pressure of deadlines or business volume increases.
