Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Evenings and weekends possible, subject to recall.


Must have a high school education or equivalent related experience. Must have and maintain valid driver's license. Inspects County infrastructure installations to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations. Reviews project package including plans, specifications, shop drawings and appropriate standards to facilitate inspection process. Observes construction activities and documents progress. Must possess ability to climb ladders, traverse rough terrain and endure inclement weather conditions. Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions; large percentage of time is spent in transit; exposure to high voltage; work involves exposure to dirt, dust, temperature, noise and inclement weather. There are recurring work conditions that involve change and may cause injury.

Performs daily inspections of new installation of capital improvement infrastructure, public water and sewer installations in subdivisions, water tap inspections to all public water mains for services sizes in excess of two (2) inches, Water Management and Sediment Control and Flood Plain inspections for capital improvement infrastructure. Performs inspection of existing infrastructure to determine condition and operability. Locate and mark buried water and sewer infrastructure in accordance with the Ohio Utilities Protection Service standards for capital improvement projects. Assist with the collection of data to verify location of water and sewer infrastructure in support of the County's GIS.

Follows up and responds to complaints from the general public as related to the installation of water and sewer infrastructure.

Communicates with Owners and/or Contractors on the County Regulations.
Prepares and submits inspection reports including work sheets, record drawings, material tickets, and other relevant documents. Verifies materials and quantities used during construction of new water and sewer infrastructure.

Attends job related meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.

Works alone or with other persons in short- or long-term team projects to resolve problems or conflicts in any area of county operations or to complete assigned projects at the direction of any county supervisor or Department Head when assigned. Participates in cross-training and maintains proficiency in area of cross-training as necessary. New and other related duties as assigned. Reports safety/risk management issues to immediate supervisor.
