Details:
Under general supervision, employees of this class provide technical services and engineering support duties. Employees verify and provide technical project and/or property easement references, perform fieldwork, and use specialized engineering software. Employees of this experienced level class perform a variety of duties, including regular meetings with County and non-County personnel, assisting higher level engineering staff, and resolving reported field problems. Mathematical and logical thinking skills are used regularly. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Qualifications:
At the time of application, applicants must:

1. Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development Test; AND

2. Have had at least three (3) years of full-time experience performing mapping, engineering, community planning, surveying, property assessing, architectural work, database management, or programming.

NOTE: Up to two (2) years full-time course credits at an accredited college or university in a related field of study may be substituted for up to two (2) years full-time experience.

3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date.

4. Pass the complete examination including the employment medical, established for this class.

5. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.
