Water Distribution Maintenance Administrator

The Lake County Department of Utilities is accepting applications for the position of Water Distribution Maintenance Administrator. The ideal administrator for this position will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the underground potable water distribution piping at the western portion of Lake County. This department ensures potable water is delivered to our customers efficiently. The position involves the supervision of multiple crews associated with planning, maintenance and repair. This position coordinates the department’s response to emergency repairs relating to breaks or disruptions in water mains, ensuring the prompt response of work crews and the proper coordination with other utilities and communities. The top priorities for this position are the promotion of employee development, conducting a safe working environment and fostering a culture of teamwork. Applicants will develop practical short and long term operational plans to ensure reliable water delivery. This position requires participation in the development of an annual budget.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will apply sound business skills and will make recommendations regarding staffing, equipment, and supplies. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering and a minimum of ten years of demonstrated leadership related to the areas of underground utilities is desired. Applicants shall have significant managerial experience relating to large scale water distribution systems and administrative experience overseeing a staff ten or more employees in a departmental setting. A valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and a drug screen are required. Salary based on qualifications.
