SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the Director of Public Utilities, is responsible for supervision and operation of the Bureaus of Water Distribution and Sewage/Storm Water Collection including the Water/Sewer Billing Office; and the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment; assists with development of annual and long-range capital and operational budgets; supervises personnel; responsible for the maintenance, protection, security, and appearance of all facilities and grounds; responsible for the water quality compliance regulation of the OEPA; responsible for establishing and administering policy in regards to the Bureaus of Water Distribution, Sewage/Storm Water Collection and Wastewater Treatment personnel; reviews complaints and operational performance; performs customer service operations; attends various meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and be a registered professional engineer, preferably in Civil Engineering. Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing a municipality’s water and waste water treatment, sewage/storm water collection operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Candidate should have water and sewer project management experience; supervisory experience or training; and experience with continuous improvement and/or lean process techniques.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have an OEPA Class I Distribution license, possession of a Class I Waste Water license a plus.
