Details:
The Director will be responsible for overseeing and scheduling four full-time, non-union, positions and various seasonal part-time employees when appropriate. These individuals are cross-trained and perform a multitude of duties which include the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, clearing and plowing Village streets, fixing sidewalks, installing water meters, maintaining our parks, grounds, and marina and other duties typical of DPW, streets, and Utility departments.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
a. State of Michigan Municipal Water Operator Distribution and Treatment licenses at the “S-3” and “D-3” level or higher;
b. State of Michigan Municipal Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification Level “C” or higher.
c. Prior experience working in a Public Works capacity, preferably in a management role and familiar with state and federal guidelines such as OSHA and MIOSHA standards;
d. A proven record of excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and the ability to effectively provide oral and written presentations, when needed;
e. Ability to operate small hand tools, power hand tools and heavy construction/maintenance equipment.
