Details:
Directs and oversees the Division’s Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) daily operations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements. IPP program locations include ARTP, District #3 and District #7 facilities.



Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the industrial pretreatment field with supervisory responsibility or equivalent education or training as determined by the Employer.
• Minimum of (2) years of related wastewater or water treatment plant laboratory experience.
• Supervisory skills necessary to provide guidance, training and review the work of assigned staff.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, customers, the public vendors, and others in the exchange of information. The incumbent is also required to handle problem situations in a tactful, courteous and respectful manner.
• Analytical ability and mathematical aptitude necessary to perform complex laboratory analyses.
• Computer skills necessary to perform assigned duties.
• Experience with LINKO and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Mental ability to adapt and respond to multiple priorities and demands and work on tasks requiring accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Physical ability to collect samples and conduct site inspections.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying or adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to walk over rough terrain and climb ladders and stairs.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
