Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Lakewood Wastewater Authority (LWA) is accepting applications for a full time Wastewater Operator.
LWA is located between Lansing and Grand Rapids. It encompasses the Village of Lake Odessa and Odessa Township in the County of Ionia, the Village of Woodland, and Woodland Township in Barry County. The service area includes all properties within the Villages of Lake Odessa and Woodland, along with properties around Jordan Lake in the Odessa and Woodland Townships. This includes nearly 1,400 connections and encompasses 6.8 square miles of land and 17 lift stations.
LWA is an activated sludge treatment plant that has just completed renovations.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with wastewater collection and treatment operations and have the ability to learn wastewater laboratory testing and analysis. The applicant must have a minimum of a high school diploma, is good with mathematical abilities, and possibly possess a Michigan Class D Wastewater Operator Certification or higher.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Chauffer’s Driver’s License and be able to obtain a CDL-B License with tanker and airbrake endorsements within 90 days of hire. Applicants must live within 30 minutes of the facility and will be required to be on a 7-day on-call rotation which includes weekends.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug test as a pre-employment requirement and be able to pass subsequent random tests as a condition of continued employment.
