The Waste Water & Sewer Technician is a full time, year round position who assists in maintaining and repairing the Township sewer system, grinder pumps, and waste water treatment facilities. The employee provides effective and efficient customer service to residents, responds to emergency needs, continues to develop expertise in mechanical and system repairs, provides clear and concise analysis in problem diagnosis and solving, is a team player and can work independently when needed.
The technician will be on-call periodically for situations occurring on holidays, weekends, at night, and in all kinds of weather. Willingness to respond quickly and efficiently in those conditions is an essential aspect of the position.. Reports to: DPW Waste Water Treatment Supervisor.

• Assist with maintaining the Township sewer system: repairs and problem analysis
• Maintain and repair grinder pumps
• Assist with operating the lagoon system
• Operates snowplows, backhoes and other power, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
• Keeps accurate and timely records of service calls
• Maintain clean, efficient facilities, working conditions, and equipment
• Be professional, courteous and respectful to the public and staff

Pay range: base new hire $12.36 hr, technician without L2 Certification: 12.72 hr; with L2: $16.52 hr

Clothing allowance, paid holidays, participating health insurance and savings plan.



Qualifications:
Qualifications include:
• High school diploma or successful GED
• Mechanical skill and aptitude
• Able to lift 50 lbs or more; in excellent physical health
• Possess valid Michigan driver's license
