|Details:||Under general direction, this position is responsible for assisting in various functions of the Finance Department, including Asset/Liability monitoring, budgeting, profitability analysis, financial reporting, and financial model maintenance, in conformance with Bank policies, procedures, objectives, regulatory instructions and generally accepted accounting principles.|
The successful candidate will be able to:
Prepares monthly/quarterly financial statements, business activity reports, budget to actual reports and other financial reports, in an accurate and timely manner, for presentation to various Bank departments, senior management and board of directors.
Assists in analysis and interpretation of monthly financial results and forecasts for the Bank’s senior management.
Support financial systems to include Asset/Liability Management, budgeting, and profitability for the Bank.
Serves as point of contact for various Bank departments to assist in budget to actual variances.
Performs data reconciliation and completeness and accuracy testwork over data, as necessary, to ensure data integrity.
Provide solutions for automation of reports and streamlining of processes.
Monitors key controls for SOX reporting within the department.
Participate in and/or lead various accounting initiatives, such as program implementations or enhancements.
Cross-train within the department to provide back-up, as needed; contributes to the success of the department with willingness to share in all department responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or relevant discipline – required. Finance degree- preferred.
3 years’ recent relevant accounting, finance and general ledger experience – required.
Experience in public accounting and/or the financial services industry – preferred.
Finance or Accounting Certification (CFA, CPA, etc.) – preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Provides an exceptional level of quality service for internal/external customers; responds to customers' needs, questions and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate outstanding and follow up issues over the phone, in person and via email; and ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Working knowledge and experience with general ledgers and chart of accounts.
Ability to prepare reports objectively, concisely and clearly too confidently describe the work performed to enhance the report’s usefulness.
Strong analytical reasoning, solutions-based approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, organizational, data review and time management skills, with the ability to accurately manage multiple assignments, goals and reporting requests, ensuring priorities are set and commitments and deadlines are met, with minimal direction and supervision.
Working knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, rules and policies related to assigned area.
Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information required.
Demonstrated ability to quickly focus on key issues and make decisions under pressure of time constraints.
Proficient PC experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Windows based applications (e.g. Visual Basic macros), to build complex spreadsheets and retrieval of data; working knowledge of automated financial and accounting systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
Working knowledge and experience working with Fiserv Prologue financial suite or other ERP systems – preferred.
Working knowledge and experience with budgeting model – desired.
