Affiliate Faculty (Category III)
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at the Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking affiliate faculty (Category III) to teach courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in our Geospatial Sciences Program. Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time departmental needs beginning Spring 2019.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.
The Geospatial Sciences Program at MSU Denver provides students with the theoretical knowledge and technical training to become proficient in Geographic Information Science (GIS), remote sensing, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), mapmaking and data management in order to define and solve problems in the real world. We offer a major in Geospatial Sciences (BS), a minor, and certificate in Geospatial Sciences. Our Program includes a dedicated GIS open computer laboratory in addition to a GIS teaching lab, the latest software and devices for working with spatial data, and offers a wide range of classes to enable students to develop mastery in the discipline. Required qualifications: Masters degree in GIS, Geography, or a related discipline.
Successful candidates will be able to teach lower or upper division courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Courses include:

• Spatial Modeling in Raster
• GIS Programming
• Web Mapping
• Spatial Databases
