Details:
Under general supervision, regularly monitors dams and various other structures which control the levels of inter-connected lakes and streams. Operates, adjusts, maintains and/or repairs structures as necessary to ensure water levels are appropriate as established by the Inland Lake Level Act, M.C.L. 281.61. Maintains records of observed water levels, responds to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding related issues, and makes recommendations for system improvement. Coordinates work crew and large power equipment needs with maintenance supervision. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Qualifications:
At the time of application, applicants must:

1. Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test; AND

2. Have had at least three (3) years of storm drain or sanitary sewer maintenance experience involving power equipment such as backhoes and bucket loaders.

3. Possess a valid United States Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Group "A" designation and "N" endorsement with air brakes. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before hire date.

4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this class.

5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
