Details:

This position is responsible for performing the duties of operation and light maintenance of the plant. The employees in this class are in training to prepare themselves to obtain an Ohio EPA Wastewater or Water Supply Class I, II or III Certificate through steady on the job training and will be compensated accordingly. Makes regular inspections of the plant and equipment to ascertain that it is in proper operation at all times.

Qualifications:

Good knowledge of modern pollution control or water treatment principles and operating practices. Must possess an Ohio EPA Class I, II or III Certificate in either Water Supply or Wastewater. Candidates that have passed the ABC or OEPA Wastewater Certification exam are also eligible to apply. Candidates in this standing will start in the Operator-in-Training position. After one year probation and training, candidates who have passed the Class I Certification examination with the certification can be promoted to an Operator Class I, once they have been approved by the Ohio EPA.
