POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Payments Specialist, you will proactively uncover opportunities to reduce Circle K’s total cost of acceptance which includes chargebacks, credit card fraud and acceptance fees. In cooperation with IT and the payment networks, you will actively contribute to process improvements and system enhancements which automate data analysis through exception reporting and trend analysis. The Payments Specialist will also assist business operations and helpdesk with day to day issues in insure a timely resolutions to payments related issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 Analyzes and interprets credit card transaction data by store and at the Company level by network, looking for suspect transactions such as high transaction amounts, high frequency of transactions and manually keyed transactions. Collaborate with our Operations, IT and Network teams to develop and implement tactics to control these expenses.
 Extracts and imports transaction files from credit card processing networks. Analyses and interprets data contained in these files to determine areas of opportunity to reduce/control total cost of acceptance. Works with IT and Networks to develop exception reports to automate the screening of high volumes of transaction data for suspect card transactions or usage patterns.
 Based on data and trend analysis, works with IT and outside credit card vendors to suggest improvements or changes in systems in order to proactively monitor total cost of acceptance
 Review and analyze credit card fees for all cards processing network and contracts. Negotiates adjustments or refunds when errors or anomalies are discovered.
 Interpret and take action on fraud and interchange management reports provided by acquirer network
 Calculate and report quarterly cost of acceptance for all electronic payments by processing network.
 Support Day to Day business operations and helpdesk to resolve payments related issues in a timely manner
 Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in business administration is preferred. Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
 5+ years of experience preferred; including minimum of two years of management responsibility.
 Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally and to influence and build consensus among teams; strong interpersonal skills.
 Self-starter who takes initiative. Flexible with change and unafraid of ambiguity.
 Natural sense of urgency and curiosity
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Proficiency in MS software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
 Must possess the ability to manage multiple activities.

 Ability to operate a computer.
 Ability to communicate, verbal or written, to associates, vendors, customers.
 Ability to travel as needed
