The City of Grandville Michigan seeks a qualified individual to fill an entry level plant operator position in its municipal Clean Water Plant. The plant is a modern, state-of-the-art facility that recently underwent a $23 million upgrade and expansion project which received multiple engineering and excellence awards.

Qualifications:
Essential Job Functions include: having the ability to communicate effectively, understand technical data, operate computers and computer related devises, extensive walking, lift heavy objects, climb stairs or ladders and enter manholes as well as other confined spaces. This position will require working various shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications include: a high school diploma and a valid State of Michigan driver’s license. General wastewater treatment process knowledge, laboratory skills and maintenance experience with pumping equipment and electrical controls. A strong understanding of computer related controls and computer process programs. Additional consideration will be given to those with a college degree in any of the health or environmental sciences, including civil engineering, microbiology or chemistry.
