Supervises staff (24 hours / day) assigned to the Water Reclamation facility to ensure regulatory compliance and proper operation and maintenance of water reclamation process and equipment. Interviews, selects, trains, evaluates, counsels, mentors, and disciplines staff. Responds to emergencies after hours. Exercises independent good judgment in handling routine and emergency situations. Secures resources, plans, prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and reviews operations & maintenance activities to provide quality efficient water reclamation services. Develops and promotes positive work culture, teamwork and skill development. Acts in the absence of the Team Leader. Fosters positive public relations including complaint resolution, plant tours, and relationship building with vendors, regulators, public agencies and neighbors.


Maintains a variety of written and electronic records relating to personnel, analytical data, supplies, facilities, equipment, databases and regulations. Maintains paper records and files. Uses computer based systems (maintenance management, Geographic Information System, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition, time keeping, budget, lab data and Microsoft Office suite) to document, analyze and plan work. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations performing permit compliance activities; tracking, reviewing and analyzing data; and preparing reports. Develops and implements standard operating procedures.

Identifies, prioritizes, and tracks maintenance activities. Provides oversight for asset management and inventory. Evaluates repair verses replace issues and makes recommendations. Purchases supplies and equipment and processes invoices. Participates in capital improvement projects planning, design, review and construction. Manages major expenses at the water reclamation facility including: biosolids contract, energy usage, chemicals and fuel.


Maintains current knowledge of necessary environmental regulations including: NPDES permits, wastewater, biosolids, storm water, underground storage tanks, bulk chemicals, and wells. Maintains current knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and ensures the safety of staff by instructing on safe work practices and enforcing safety regulations.

Develops and implements processes and policies to improve water reclamation facility efficiency including: plant process control strategies, preventative maintenance program, asset management and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition automation.

Qualifications:

1. Possess valid State of Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
2. Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Possess Ohio EPA Wastewater Works Operator Class II license.
4. 5 years experience in water or sewer operations and / or maintenance.
